Ingredients
  

Essential Ingredients
  • 2 lbs pork tenderloin trimmed of fat
  • 1 cup jasmine rice rinsed; substitute with brown rice for a nuttier flavor
  • ½ cup hoisin sauce like Kikkoman for gluten-free options
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
Flavor Boosters (Optional)
  • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Red pepper flakes for heat

Equipment

  • 6-quart slow cooker
  • Meat thermometer

Method
 

  1. Layer rice in the crock pot. Season pork and place on top.
  2. Mix hoisin, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and water. Pour over pork.
  3. Cook on low 6 hours or high 4 hours.
  4. Optional: Thicken sauce with cornstarch.

Notes

  • Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Substitutions: Use chicken broth instead of water for richer rice.
