Ingredients

  • 6 ripe passion fruits choose heavy, slightly wrinkled fruits
  • 1 to 1½ cups filtered water adjust to desired consistency
  • ¼ to ½ cup simple syrup or your preferred liquid sweetener
  • Ice cubes optional
  • 1 lime optional, for extra brightness

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Pitcher
  • Serrated Knife
  • Spoon

Method

Cut and Scoop:
  1. Cut each passion fruit in half with a serrated knife. Scoop out the pulp (seeds included) into a blender.
Blend Gently:
  1. Add 1 cup filtered water and ¼ cup simple syrup to the blender. Pulse a few times to loosen the juice without completely pulverizing the seeds.
Strain:
  1. Pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher. Use a spoon to press the pulp gently to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the seeds.
Adjust Flavor:
  1. Taste the juice. If it’s too tart, add more simple syrup; if too thick, add more water. Optionally, stir in the juice of 1 lime.
Serve:
  1. Serve over ice for a chilled, refreshing drink. Garnish with a lime wedge or a sprig of mint if desired.

Notes

  • Customization: Feel free to adjust the water and syrup amounts according to your taste.
  • Storage: Store any leftover juice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Stir well before serving, as separation may occur.
  • Variations: For a sparkling twist, substitute still water with your favorite sparkling water. You can also mix in a bit of mango or pineapple juice for a unique flavor blend.
