Basil Chicken Stir-Fry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb chicken breast thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 1 cup fresh Italian basil leaves

Equipment

  • Wok or large skillet
  • Knife and cutting board

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, marinate the chicken with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the oil in a wok over high heat. Add the garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
  3. Add the chicken and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  4. Toss in the bell pepper and snap peas, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the basil leaves.
  6. Serve immediately with steamed rice.

Notes

  • Add chili flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Substitute chicken with tofu for a vegetarian version.
